Please note that there is community support for parents under stress. We encourage you to seek out resources before you need them so that you have a plan for how to respond to the sometimes overwhelming emotions that can arise with unexpected events. The phone number for the parental stress hotline is 1-800-632-8188. Parents Helping Parents also facilitates confidential on-line parent support groups, which can be found at https://www.parentshelpingparents.org. The Brookline Center can be contacted at 617-277-8107 and is now offering telehealth counseling. Information on the Brookline Food Pantry is at https://www.brooklinefoodpantry.org. Worst-case-scenario planning also helps alleviate the anxiety that can arise when reading news reports and helps counteract the feeling of being alone in a difficult situation. Please also reach out to family and friends to reinforce networks of support.
